Since I finally decided on a proper name for this blog, I’m moving everything to the new URL. You can find it here.

It was too cute not to share. Liam was chewing on a section of a drinking straw and somehow got the middle of the straw situated in his mouth. I was afraid he would spit it out before I got my camera ready, but he wandered around like this for a good twenty minutes.

And the vegetable obsession continues. Here is the produce Aidan “harvested” from the refrigerator this morning. I love this child’s imagination!

Super Jellyfish

No, not the blue-eyed sweetheart with the little smirk.

This afternoon, Aidan was agitated. He was rummaging all over the apartment with a very solemn look on his face. I asked him what he was doing, and he just muttered something under his breath. I couldn’t make it out at first. Screwdriver? Are you looking for a screwdriver? No. He continued his search, and I shrugged and went about my own business.

A few minutes later, he came running into the room triumphant and overjoyed, waving a stream of blue and green around his head. It was the winter hat I bought for him last year. Apparently, the hat reminds him of a jellyfish (big surprise, right?). But the hat has somehow surpassed the caliber of an ordinary jellyfish and has been dubbed “Super Jellyfish.” Now, only a few hours later, everyone in the family refers to the hat by this new moniker.

Funny how these things come about. Here’s another strange, random occasion that, to Marcus and me (as parents to a three-year-old), seems commonplace.

Said in response to the concluding lines of Brahm’s Lullaby (“Lay you down now and rest, / May your slumber be blessed.”).

Available on my photography blog, here.

I overheard Aidan singing in the bathtub the other night…

The eency weency octopus went up the water spout.

Down came the rain and washed the octopus out.

Out came the sun and dried up all the rain,

And the eency weency octopus went up the spout again.

Liam started to crawl last night. I mean really crawl…belly off the ground. :)

We decided to start our day by taking our jack-o-lanterns out back and tossing them off the balcony to watch them bust open. Aidan was thrilled at the idea. And the experience didn’t let him down. Here’s his expression just after the first pumpkin met its end.

Liam? Well, he thought it was pretty lame. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone look so bored.
